ABOUT PETER

I was looking for the answer too.

From the outside, I was capable, successful and used to solving problems. What I could not understand was why achievement could still feel hollow—or why, despite everything I had built, I still felt there was something missing.

the long way round

Capability can hide the feeling that something is missing.

“Being able to cope does not mean the way you are coping is working.”

I spent more than 30 years building businesses, leading people and carrying responsibility. I became the provider, fixer and person expected to find the answer. Those qualities helped me succeed, but the limiting beliefs behind them also led to control and the feeling that everything ultimately came back to me.

I did not realise that limiting beliefs formed through earlier experiences were still influencing my decisions, reactions and sense of responsibility.

The problem was not a lack of commercial ability. It was the hollow feeling that achievement alone did not resolve. I was looking for the missing why: a practical answer that worked in business without stopping at business.

curiosity and necessity

The search was personal before it became professional.

Necessity started the search. Curiosity kept me asking why a genuine breakthrough could feel powerful at the time but fail to last.

I read the books, attended events, worked with coaches and invested heavily in personal development. Much of it had value. Some of it created profound moments of understanding. Yet the effect often faded when ordinary life and familiar patterns returned.

I do not regret the time or money. It gave me perspective, exposed me to leading work in transformation and helped me see what was still missing: a simple process I could understand, test and use when I actually needed it.

why i went to texas

I could not believe it was that simple.

The distinction sounded almost too simple: a limiting belief will always put you into a Primal State. That state is your internal compass telling you the belief is not true. What is true instead will always be the opposite—or very close to the opposite—and will return you to a Powerful State.

David had found this to be true across tens of thousands of conversations. I understood the words, but I needed to experience the work properly, question it and test it for myself. That is why I crossed the Atlantic and travelled to Texas.

In a Powerful State, creativity, inspiration, intuition and resourcefulness become available again. You can see solutions and possibilities that were hidden by the limiting belief.

Finding the new truth creates the breakthrough. Building evidence for it and returning to that evidence when the old limiting belief reappears helps the change take hold.

It gave me the clearest and most practical explanation I had found for why outcomes keep repeating—and a process people can learn to use for themselves.

why nomad mind

Onward momentum, guided from within.

For years, I knew how to keep going. I could work harder, solve the next problem and find a way through whatever was in front of me. What I did not always know was whether that movement was taking me towards the life I genuinely wanted.

That was the hollow feeling beneath some of the achievement. I was searching for alignment, fulfilment and purpose before I had the language to describe them.

The hills and the natural world became an important part of that search. They gave me space away from responsibility, noise and constant problem-solving. Nature also showed me that meaningful growth is not constant effort. There are seasons for movement, rest, change, release and renewal.

In many ways, that was where my Nomad journey began—not with a plan to become a coach, but with the recognition that there had to be another way to be in life than constantly pushing, solving and carrying everything.

That is what Nomad Mind means to me. The Nomad continues onwards without forcing the journey. You learn to follow your internal compass, recognise the season you are in and move in a direction that feels true and aligned.

You survive what you go through. You grow through it. You continue with a clearer vision, a better map and stronger skills—not relying on willpower and intellect alone, but developing greater trust in your awareness, experience and intuition.

The journey does not end because life continues to change. The difference is that you become better equipped to meet each season without losing yourself inside it.

As the first Scottish facilitator trained by David Bayer’s team, I bring a Scottish and British perspective to the work: direct, practical, personal and free from unnecessary complexity or jargon.

Nomad Mind was built from lived experience, a curious mind and the belief that sophisticated work can still be clear and usable. I took the long way round so that you can begin closer to the answer without spending years trying to assemble disconnected pieces for yourself.

That does not mean every previous approach was wrong. The value lies in bringing the strongest lessons into one coherent process and applying it consistently enough for the change to last.

how i work

Direct enough to be useful. Personal enough to be honest.

My role is not to become another authority you depend upon. It is to help you recognise what is true and become confident using the process yourself.

I understand the commercial reality of making decisions, employing people, managing risk and carrying responsibility. I also understand that the way you operate in business affects your family, health, relationships and the private moments when nobody else sees the cost.

We work with what is actually happening. We question limiting beliefs without diminishing what you have achieved. We keep the language clear, the conversation human and the application grounded in real life.

The work is sophisticated, but your experience of it remains clear, personal and practical when you apply it honestly and consistently.

What I learned to carry

Strength has a history.

Long before I became a business owner, coach or the person other people depended upon, I was learning how to survive. My early life included generational trauma, frequent movement and insecurity, mental and emotional abuse, and the experience of anti-Catholic bigotry. These weren't abstract ideas. They shaped how safe the world felt, how closely I watched other people, and what I believed I had to become in order to belong.

So I learned to adapt. To endure. To read a room. To keep moving. To become useful. To carry responsibility before I fully understood what responsibility was. I don't share this as a catalogue of hardship — I share it because the person we become always has a history, and understanding mine changed my relationship with myself.

The gift

Responsibility

Forty-five to sixty minutes, one-to-one over Zoom, at the same time each week wherever you are in the world. Every session held personally by Peter, no associates or groups.

The identity

The provider and fixer

Being capable stopped being something I did and became who I believed I had to be. If I wasn't holding everything together — who was I?

The cost

Strength without permission to stop

Rest could feel undeserved. Vulnerability could feel unsafe. Success became another way to search for the security and arrival I expected to feel later.

None of those strengths were false. The difficulty was that they were being driven by beliefs I had never consciously chosen.

Being seen

The hardest first step was being seen.

I still remember how frightened I felt before my first serious coaching conversation. I carried the familiar ideas about strength: what doesn't kill you makes you stronger; suck it up; get on with it. Especially as a man, asking for help felt like surrendering control. Speaking honestly risked being judged, misunderstood or exposed as less capable than people believed.

Opening up was still a gift. Vulnerability didn't make me weaker — it made truth available. The true test of my strength was never how much more I could endure. It was whether I could be honest enough to let myself be seen.

One more thing, because it matters here: you do not have to earn the right to be free. Some people wait for life to repay years of hardship. Others feel guilty for struggling when everything looks good from the outside. Suffering is not a competition. You don't need to prove your life was difficult enough to deserve support — and you don't need to apologise because it looked successful from the outside.

This is why agency, confidentiality, patience and the absence of judgement run through everything I do. I won't ask you to enter a conversation I've never had the courage to enter myself — and I understand that a first honest answer may have taken someone years to say aloud. You begin with what is true today.
